Today’s #poetry Morning amble

The prompt for this poem was to write about nature in ten lines with ten syllables in each line:

My morning amble with the dog begins…
We sniff the sweet crispness of morning air
All around the green of leaf and grass glows.
Above, the infinite blue if sky,
Before us, the luminous river,
Tiny grey fish darting in the shallows
And ducks hoping for a morsel of bread.
We weave our way between sniffs and hellos
People, other dogs and bird song greet us
As we wind our way home to our breakfast.
